NEWBORN PORTRAITS

NEWBORN PORTRAITS

Newborn Portrait Sessions are so incredibly special and I'm honored to be able to document these fleeting moments in your infant's journey.  I photograph newborn sessions inside your home or outdoors with weather permitting.  I tend to give more time as its better if your baby has just woken and fed so we can get some newborn photography with their eyes open.  It's very common to have to do another feeding as these little babies need nourishment to grow!  This is totally fine and I just try to set up the next shot while you are feeding your baby.  I think it's great when all the family members are involved in the newborn photography sessions--even siblings!  I tend to lean towards classic newborn photography but can do some of the trendy newborn photography ideas as well. I'm excited to meet your little one and click away as I document the magic of your infant seeing the world for the first time.

Where to photograph your Newborn Portrait Session

Ideally, your baby's newborn photography session would take place in your own home if you have enough natural light through your windows but I am also open to photographing at my home in Petaluma.  I like to do both outdoors and indoors if weather permits.  There are so many beautiful locations like Jack London State Park, Golden Gate Park, Chrissy Fields, Helen Putnam State Park or even in your backyard if there is enough shade. Shade is important for exposure so we want to find a big area of it so your baby isn't squinting in the sun!  Be sure to block out a couple hours so you have time to feed your baby during the photography session if need be.  It's a very intimate and beautiful time and I am honored to be able to document your baby for the first time!
