I think it's so important to photograph your growing family so you have these beautiful images to look back on. Whether you frame these family photographs on the walls or make albums, children love to look at all the memories that were created together. I love photographing family photo sessions outdoors in natural light at Dillion or Stinson Beach, Golden Gate Park or Chrissy Fields where children can play and have room to run around. It's supposed to be FUN and I try to get everyone to laugh and have the best time possible so your photo session reflects all the boundless love you have for each other! Choosing a location and Wardrobe for your
Family Photography Session
To me a family photography session can reflect what you like to do together and that photographing your family at the beach, such as Bolinas Beach, a park such as Golden Gate Park, the forest such as John Muir Woods, or in the privacy of your own home. It's most important to have a large full shaded area though as when it comes to exposure you don't want one family member to have a bright sun spot on their face and everyone else is in the shade. It's best when everyone has the same exposure on them. As for clothing, I like to say there are no rules, however, solid covers make you stand up whereas patterns on clothing tend to get too distracting. I think solid colors that compliment each other is the way to go if you can swing it. As for locations, I don't charge extra to go to the beach and I photograph my family portrait sessions in the San Francisco bay area such as Petaluma, Tiburon Belvedere, Sausalito, San Rafael, Ross, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Mill Valley, Healdsburg, Napa and Sonoma
