CELEBRITY PORTRAITS
Being a celebrity photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area has some perks, I gotta be honest. I loved photographing Snoop Dogg at the Fillmore and getting up close and personal with him. Or getting to photograph the iconic Ms. Lauryn Hill at the Sonoma Harvest Festival at B.R. Cohn Winery. I also got to photograph the gorgeous Maria Bello from the tv show, ER and other movies at a studio in Oakland. Photographing celebrity Slash from Guns n Roses was a highlight as well at a charity event at the Bowery in San Francisco and I even got him to smile which is pretty rare for him in a publicity photograph. All in all, I just try to have fun and have everyone laugh because even celebrities need to laugh when they are being photographed.
Scouting a location for a
celebrity photography Session
When Publicity teams call me to book a photography session for a celebrity the first thing they ask is where should we do it? Obviously, if privacy is a concern there a multitude of studios in San Francisco and Oakland where we can photograph the client. However, I love to shoot celebrities in iconic places like North Beach, Alcatraz, in Golden Gate Park, Coit Tower or the Embarcadero. I think people whether they are celebrities or not tend to have more freedom of expression outside and they get a surge of energy as a performer when fans watch them do their thing. Either way, I make sure everyone is comfortable and having a great time as to produce the best publicity photos of the celebrity one can muster up! FUN is always the answer!
